Antique French fireside chair in Arden, Ontario for sale

Antique French fireside chair with the mythical green man pierce carved on the back. His tongue extends almost 8 inches (20.3 cm) in length. Turned stile in front. Mahogany colour. This chair adds whimsy to any room. It is said that these were placed near the entrance to a fireplace to keep the "Haints" out, which was an old fashioned name for spirits. The same concept as a gargoyle on a building. Pick up only.
