Thomas Organ Co. antique piano stool. A beautiful Canadian made piano or organ stool with marvelous details and rich, dark patina; it has an adjustable-height seat with ball and claw feet; the last four inches (10 cm) is made of cast iron and the end of each foot has a glass ball. Under the seat is a cast iron stamp of the maker's mark. Circa 1890.

Minor nicks in the finish. In otherwise excellent condition with no missing or broken parts.
About Thomas Organ Co.*
Edward G. Thomas founded the Thomas Organ Co. in 1875 in Woodstock, Ontario. At the turn of the century the firm produced approximately 150 reed organs and 1,000 piano stools/benches a month. By the mid-1940's it had turned to furniture building, and later became a subsidiary of the Whirlpool Company of US and relinquished the Thomas name.
